Stages Of Home Construction
Most of us have no clue of what goes on when homes are being constructed. As long as the house you want is completed, then there is no need for you to know what is done, right? But it is essential you know what is done during construction because you will be able to estimate how long the building will take, the cost incurred, manpower and man-hours involved. This is not a comprehensive detailed article, but at least you will have an idea of what goes on in construction of homes.
Process Before Actual Construction
Before the home construction is started, there must be the floor plans. The final plans are then taken to the municipal officer. The officer then reviews them before issuing a building permit. Also, the homebuilders must inspect the site and examine the soil, capacity of the ground and other environmental tests.
Foundation means that before the building is done, the base must be firmly laid. The topmost soil is removed. The next thing done is excavation of the site. Concrete slabs that supports the wall foundation are formed and poured; they are termed as footings. Next, the wall foundations are created. You might get a call from the homebuilders on how they will build the floors.
At this stage, the skeleton of the building is put up. Even though there are a lot of techniques that can be applied, the most common is exterior sheeting. It is in this third stage that the doors and windows are fitted. You should know that the frames can be lifted in place after they have been constructed on the ground.
The basement is a crucial step in the construction of the house it is important that this be the point the basement installation is done. Piping and the ventilations are done at this stage and this will stage will also include the electric wiring, heating and cooling. The house inspection by the safety and standard officer is also done at this point. Any mistake noticed by the safety inspector is rectified before the job continues and this ensures that the house is safe and up to the required standard.
The Inside and Outside Works
This point of construction is the fourth stage. A lot of work is done at the same time and this means that the timing has to be correct to ensure the outcome is good and on schedule. On the exterior, the insulation is done, heating and cooling systems properly installed. The blockage of the water vapor is set up at this point of the construction. Painting of the walls and the upper part of the house is done at this point. In addition, the floor is permanently laid, and the cabinets of the bathroom and kitchen are installed.
